Individual Giving Manager
Development

New York City Center, one of New York’s premier performing arts venues, seeks an experience professional to manage all facets of the individual giving program at City Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement individual giving strategy for donors from $2,500 to $25,000 (President’s Council), cultivate and manage existing relationships, secure new gifts and oversee the delivery of a comprehensive benefits program
  • Write all solicitation materials for the individual giving program including, but not limited to, cover letters and proposals and programming information required to support fundraising efforts
  • Prepare all communication materials required to support the individual giving program including brochures, invitations, stationery, signage, website, newsletter
  • Maintain appropriate administration systems to manage and track the individual giving program including daily use of the organizational database (Tessitura)
  • Manage the Development Associate and part-time and/or occasional interns and volunteers
  • Maintain the annual individual campaigns calendar on a day-by-day basis
  • Provide regular reports and updates as to the progress of individual campaigns
  • Represent the Development Department at occasional evening and weekend performances and special events
  • Ensure that all individual donors are appropriately thanked and receive regular communication

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A minimum of five years professional fundraising experience, including oversight of an individual giving or membership program
  • Experience with Tessitura helpful
  • Candidate must demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, professional demeanor and excellent attention to detail

Internships are offered in marketing, development, and education, as well as New York City Center's Encores!® series. Opportunities are typically available September to December, January to May, or May to August; Encores! internships correspond with the production schedules. As specific internship opportunities become available, they will be posted below with application guidelines.

 
Volunteers

New York City Center welcomes a select few volunteers to assist with audience survey distribution and collection during evening and matinee performances of the annual Fall for Dance Festival, as well as to provide clerical support during business hours for special projects.
