 Classroom teachers and arts specialists in our Encores! In Schools program begin the year with a one-day immersion in the world of musical theater. They learn a song from an Encores! show, move through a musical number, stage their scene, set choreography, and put it all together in a mini-performance. The day concludes with a reflection and discussion on expectations and learner outcomes. Throughout the program, teachers observe strategies implemented by City Center’s teaching artists, work with students to reinforce what has been learned, and apply the work to their classroom practice.
