Louise Lecavalier was born in Montreal, joined Édouard Lock’s La La La Human Steps in 1981, and went on to perform in every one of the company’s productions until 1999. She received the Jean A. Chalmers National Award, Canada’s most distinguished dance prize, in 1999 and a Career Grant from the Conseil des arts et des letters du Quebec in 2003. She regularly gives workshops and master classes in Canada and Europe, while mounting creative projects both as an independent dancer and for her production company, Fou glorieux, founded in 2006. |
