FALL FOR DANCE FESTIVAL - Sept. 28 - 29
Miami City Ballet
The Golden Section
Choreography by Twyla Tharp
ABOUT THIS PIECE
The Golden Section (1983), with music by David Byrne, is a ballet of pure energy. Thirteen dancers in athletic costumes sail, soar and tear through the air bathed in golden, glowing light. Dashing, jogging, coupling and intermixing, the men and women act as individuals and as an individually select race of super beings.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“WAVES OF APPLAUSE! These Miami dancers keep highlighting, with relish, some of Ms. Tharp’s most startling demands.”
– Alastair Macaulay, The New York Times

“The six women and seven men, in gold trunks and tank tops, hurled themselves into the vertiginous, luscious movement with full-tilt relish driven by David Byrne’s churning, electro-rock score.”
– Jordan Levin, The Miami Herald

“Miami City Ballet is a sharp, energetic interpreter of Tharp’s work and we can’t get enough of this match – it’s A DANCE FEAST!”
– Harriet Howard Heithaus, Naples News
