Each year, over 5,000 students audition worldwide by video preliminary and through the U.S. and international Semi-Finals conducted by YAGP in 10 major U.S. metropolitan areas and Japan, Mexico, Italy, and Brazil. 350 of the most promising soloists representing 30 countries on 5 continents are chosen for the New York City Finals. The Final Round is an opportunity for general public to see the best of the competition as the top soloists in the Junior (12-14 years old) and Senior (15-19 years old) Age Divisions perform one last time before the winners are announced and the scholarship recipients disperse to continue their studies at top dance academies worldwide.
