John Patrick Shanley, the Pulitzer Prize-and Tony-winning author of Doubt and the Oscar-winning writer of Moonstruck, returns to MTC with this world premiere of a new play. Sometimes big things start from little things; in this case, a bag of laundry.
Manhattan Theatre Club had its first performance at City Center in 1984 and is proud to be among many artistic groups that call City Center home. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Lynne Meadow and Executive Producer Barry Grove, MTC has made enormous contributions to American theater, producing bold new American plays and musicals on Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre and Off-Broadway at New York City Center Stages I and II. Grove was recently succeeded by Executive Director Chris Jennings.
