The virtuosic artistry of Houston Ballet is among the most exquisite in the world. Seldom seen on the East Coast, the company returns to City Center showcasing two New York premieres and featuring the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.

The legendary Mark Morris, acclaimed for the offbeat brilliance of his work with ballet companies, created The Letter V for Houston Ballet in 2015. Never before seen in New York, the piece is the choreographer’s lighthearted and graceful response to Haydn’s Symphony No. 88 in G Major.

The all-male Come In by Aszure Barton features 14 dancers who easily transition between her impressive group synchronicity and enthralling solo work. The piece, originally created for Mikhail Baryshnikov, has been called “unsentimentally touching” and “an eloquent work” by The New York Times.

Optimism is contagious in Justin Peck’s Reflections, which Houston Ballet premiered in Spring 2019. Bright and ebullient, the choreography exudes joy and embodies a sense of belonging that Peck calls his “love letter to the classic form” of ballet. Dual pianists drive the action on stage with a contemporary score by Sufjan Stevens.
