ASSOCIATE
FINANCE DEPARTMENT

New York City Center, Inc., a mid-town performing arts facility, home to the acclaimed Fall For Dance and Encores! series, is seeking a Finance Associate. As a member of the Finance Department, this full-time position, handles a diverse range of responsibilities which include but are not limited to:

  • All aspects of accounts payable.
  • Sales Receipts, which include the recording and auditing of all Box Office, Phone Room and Web credit card and cash deposits, refunds and chargebacks
  • Banking
  • Monitor daily bank balances
  • Reconciliations including bank statements and petty cash
  • preparing materials for and assisting with annual audit

Additional responsibilities include the on-going analysis and maintenance of key schedules and the occasional processing of settlements with outside attractions.

The ideal candidate must be detailed oriented, a problem solver, computer savvy, able to multi-task, a team player and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Solid knowledge of excel is essential, Tessitura and MAS90 a plus.

Internships

Internships are offered in marketing, development, and education, as well as New York City Center's Encores!® series. Opportunities are typically available September to December, January to May, or May to August; Encores! internships correspond with the production schedules. As specific internship opportunities become available, they will be posted below with application guidelines.

SUMMER INTERN
MARKETING DEPARTMENT

New York City Center seeks a marketing intern for the summer semester. This internship is an ideal opportunity to explore a marketing career at a major performing arts organization. The marketing intern will play an instrumental role in the planning and execution of the inaugural Encores! Off-Center season and the 2013 Fall for Dance festival working directly with the marketing department reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications.

Applicants should be self-starters, with excellent communication skills, a good sense of humor and have a strong interest in arts administration. The intern will assist with student outreach, audience development, group and merchandise sales, basic data entry, audience survey and communication and will focus on executing City Center’s social media and digital marketing campaigns.

Experience with graphic design programs (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop) preferred but not required.

Start Date: ASAP

Commitment: Full Time (Mon-Fri 10am-6pm)
