The Wiz, the 1974 rock and soul musical based on the beloved L. Frank Baum story about Dorothy and her adventures in Oz, won seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Choreography. The Encores! Summers Stars production of The Wiz will be directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, the duo who brought the Tony Award-winning In the Heights to Broadway last season.
Post-performance talkback
All patrons attending the Wednesday, June 24 and Wednesday July 1 matinee performances of THE WIZ are invited to attend a special post-performance talkback. Encores! Summer Stars Artistic Director Jack Viertel will be joined by members of the artistic team and the cast. The discussion will immediately follow the performance, and will run approximately 45 minutes.
