Let Ailey lift you and experience why NBC's Today Show raved, "go see Ailey. It's change-your-life good." This December, audiences can marvel at the power of the Ailey men in Asadata Dafora's landmark 1932 solo Awassa Astrige/Ostrich, and in Uprising, a macho septet by Hofesh Schechter. The Company's incredible women will demonstrate their dramatic range in Jacqulyn Buglisi's haunting Suspended Women. And the battle of the sexes will play out thrillingly in Robert Moses' seductive The Pleasure of the Lesson, and in Ulysses Dove's edge-of-your-seat Bad Blood.
Other season highlights will include the world premiere of ODETTA, Matthew Rushing's stirring tribute to "the queen of American folk music," and two contemporary classics - Hans van Manen's dazzling Polish Pieces, and Christopher Wheeldon's sublime After the Rain Pas de Deux - which will join many returning audience favorites, including Mr. Ailey's masterpiece Revelations.
