Health, Safety & Ticket Policies

At this time there are no health and safety requirements for audiences, artists, or staff at New York City Center.

We are committed to following the latest health and safety protocols established by the CDC, local government, and unions. All policies will be in accordance with these guidelines, and therefore subject to change.

Customers acknowledge that safety requirements for performances may vary based on the current public health situation.

Doors to the theater typically open 30 minutes prior to curtain. Unfortunately, there is no early admittance to the theater. Please be aware that there is no seating available before theater doors have opened.

No bikes, e-bikes, scooters, etc. are permitted inside.

Any luggage brought into the theater will need to be checked at coat check. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate bags larger than a carry-on.

Every person must have a ticket. If you have an infant or small child even if they will be sitting on your lap, they must have a ticket.

Mobile Ticketing


Providing a seamless arrival to the theater, you can scan your tickets from your mobile device and walk right to your seats with mobile ticketing.

Handling fees are charged for online and phone orders excluding Access City Center (see below). Facility fees are charged per ticket on all orders (online, phone, and box office).

Refunds

All sales are final. There will be no refunds on either subscription or single tickets. Customers can donate or exchange only.

Exchanges

All exchanges must be made at least 48 hours in advance of either the original performance date or the requested performance date, whichever is sooner.

Single ticket buyers

There will be a $15 per ticket exchange fee charged for all single ticket orders. All exchanges must be for a different performance date of the event originally purchased and are subject to availability. We do not permit exchanges from one event to another.

Encores! subscribers

Encores! subscribers can exchange tickets for another date of that show’s run once per Encores! production. To request an exchange, please email Info@NYCityCenter.org. For questions, call 212.581.1212. Any additional exchanges during a show’s run will incur the $15 per ticket exchange fee.

Please note: Requests will be processed in the order they are received. Existing locations cannot be guaranteed upon exchange.

Friends of City Center members

Members at the $500 level and above receive one free exchange per event. 

 

Third Party Resellers

New York City Center Customer Care cannot assist you with tickets purchased through resale websites and other third parties. Please contact your original point of purchase directly with any issues.

New York City Center is not responsible for tickets purchased through unauthorized third parties, which may not be valid and may be unusable for admittance.

Unverified Purchases

New York City Center (“NYCC”) reserves the right to cancel any ticket purchase without notice for any lawful reason, including, without limitation, if NYCC, in its sole and absolute discretion, suspects any fraud or misrepresentation in connection with such ticket purchase, and in connection therewith, NYCC may contact the ticket purchaser using any information provided by the purchaser or otherwise to verify the purchase or any information in connection with the transaction. In addition to the foregoing, NYCC reserves all other rights and remedies available to it, which may include legal action.

Subscriptions and Ticket Packages

Encores! subscriptions can be purchased online and by phone. Subscriptions require that the same number of tickets be purchased for the same series day, in the same seat location, and at the same price for all three Encores! productions.

Access City Center Club

A limited number of $28 tickets (fees included) are available for anyone 35 and under. To sign up for email notifications when these tickets become available, please click here. Just present your photo ID at the box office to collect your tickets on the day of the performance. 

Student Rush

If you’re a current student, you’re in luck! You may purchase student rush, same-day tickets for $23 (fees included) with a current, photo student ID for select performances. Present your photo student ID at the box office on the day of the performance to buy tickets (maximum of two). Tickets are subject to availability.

Ticket Discounts

Any ticket discount offers are not valid on all seats and do not apply to prior sales. The facility and handling fees will still apply. Offers cannot be combined with any other promotion and may be revoked or modified at any time without notice. Please see individual offer fine print for additional discount specifics.

Late Seating

Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management. Cast and program content are subject to change without notice.

Accessibility

New York City Center’s Mainstage, Stage I, and Stage II spaces are all wheelchair accessible. For more information, visit our Accessibility page.

Electronic Devices

Please turn off cell phones and other electronic devices while in the theater. Photography and recording devices are strictly prohibited during the performance.
