Health, Safety & Ticket Policies

For nearly 80 years, New York City Center has served as a home for the best of the performing arts for all New Yorkers. Your safety, and that of our artists, crew, and staff, continues to be our first priority. Please check back on this page for the latest information. Please check back on this page for the latest information. Policies as of January 10, 2022.

We are committed to following the latest health and safety protocols established by the CDC, local government, and unions.

Vaccinations & Boosters

City Center is a fully vaccinated venue.

Please note that our updated vaccination and booster policies apply to adults and children.

Artists, crew, staff, and audience members will need to provide proof of their full Covid-19 vaccination. (You are fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving a one-dose vaccine or both doses of a two-dose vaccine, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or the World Health Organization.) As of January 31, 2022, all eligible artists, crew, staff, and audience members are required to provide proof of receiving a Covid-19 booster. (The booster requirement only entails proof of having received a shot. There is no additional waiting period needed for entry.)

Booster eligibility as defined by the Centers for Disease Control can be found here.

If you or your child are not yet eligible for a Covid-19 booster, you are still able to attend and provide proof that you are two weeks past a one-dose vaccine or both doses of a two-dose vaccine. Once you become eligible for the booster, you have a two-week grace period in which to obtain your booster for entry. Please note: a recent Covid-19 infection does not exempt you from the booster requirement.

Children under the age of 17 will not be required to present a Photo ID, as long as they are accompanied by parents or guardians with valid photo ID.

Children under 5 will not be admitted.

Upon arrival to the theater, vaccination proof must be presented along with your ticket. Please bring your government-issued photo ID and register in advance for one of the following forms of vaccination proof:

As of August 17, 2021, under New York City requirements, all audience members must be vaccinated. We do not have the ability to make exceptions for in-person attendees who are not vaccinated, regardless of the reason. We understand that you are unable to receive the vaccine, and we regret that we are not able to welcome you to a performance at this time. If necessary, we are happy to refund you the price of your ticket. Please refer to this New York City information sheet if you have additional questions.

Masks

Approved masks must be worn by audience members, staff, and crew at all times while inside New York City Center.

Please note: CDC guidelines state that bandanas, gaiters, or masks with vents/valves are not approved masks. If you do not have an approved mask, City Center will provide one for you.

Ventilation

Our ventilation systems use recommended MERV 13 or higher air filters. They continue to maximize fresh air intake for proper fresh air turnover in all our stage, theater, studios, and lobby spaces.

Cleaning

In accordance with CDC, state (NY Forward), and local guidelines, we have employed a comprehensive slate of new cleaning protocols and increased frequency to ensure that all points of contact are cleaned and sanitized before and after every performance.

Artists, crew, staff, and audiences are encouraged to wash their hands frequently.

Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the theater.
