A Message to our City Center Community
May 31, 2020
Dear Members of the City Center Community,
I am writing to you today on behalf of all of us at New York City Center to express our heartbreak over the recent murder of George Floyd and the unrest sparked in communities across the country over the last several days.
We believe Black lives matter. We are dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive artistic home for all the people of New York. Therefore, we take this opportunity to publicly stand in solidarity with our Black community members—artists, staff, board, patrons, and audience members—fighting hate and racial injustice.
City Center is making a renewed commitment to stand against racism wherever and whenever we encounter it. We look forward to the day when we can welcome everyone back together in our theater to partake in the healing power of the arts.
With heartfelt best wishes,
President & CEO
