NEW YORK CITY CENTER’S
JOURNEY HOME FUND
As Manhattan's first performing arts center, New York City Center was founded by Mayor Fiorello La Guardia to make the best in music, theater, and dance accessible to all audiences. In his dedication address, La Guardia said, “All that is best in the arts will provide the spirit and the soul of this Center, which I now predict will live for centuries to come.”
We understand there is a long journey ahead of us before we can once again feel the thrill of a hushed silence fall over 2,200 audience members, all watching expectantly as our signature red curtain rises once again. As we move forward, we intend to uphold our founding mandate—to be here for you, our dedicated audience, now and for centuries to come.
As we turn the lights back on at City Center to bring new original content from our stage directly into your home, we hope you’ll consider making a gift to ensure that we are able to continue bringing the joy of live performance to you and your family—until we can all return safely to our beloved home on 55th Street.
Our journey home starts and ends with you.
