Overview

Overview

Extraordinary artists from different creative worlds will share the results of a five-day artistic exploration of stillness as a choreographic concept and expressive force in dance.

Dancer and actor David Neumann, artistic director of Advanced Beginner Group and three-time winner of the Bessie Award; New York City Ballet principal dancer Joaquín De Luz, winner of the 2016 Spanish National Dance Award; and flamenco bailaor Jesús Carmona, former first dancer of Ballet Nacional de España, who presents his own show at the Flamenco Festival this year, come together in this City Center residency project where cross-disciplinary investigation is at the heart of the process of generating ideas.

The artists will be joined by Reiki master Ivan Bavcevic, dancer Lucía Campillo, and musician Antonio Lizana when they present the findings of their collaboration on stillness.
