This Monday evening series of conversations and performances is an opportunity to hear from today’s great dance artists in the intimate setting of our historic studios. Events throughout the season feature artists from our mainstage programs.
Featuring the artists of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, this program explores Alvin Ailey’s first work for the company—the 1958 classic Blues Suite. Moderated by Ailey II Artistic Director Emerita Sylvia Waters and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Associate Artistic Director Matthew Rushing, audiences will experience past and present accounts of performing the masterpiece, and specifically come to understand the sections Backwater Blues and House of the Rising Sun with performances by Jeroboam Bozeman, Khalia Campbell, Caroline T. Dartey, Ashley Kaylynn Green, and Constance Stamatiou.

For this momentous return to in-person live performances, City Center will operate a fully vaccinated venue. At this time, approved masks must be worn by all audience members, staff, and crew. Our latest health, safety, and ticket policies ensure you feel confident purchasing today.
